To streamline hospital operations and maximize appointment efficiency, we propose a fully automated specialty-wise booking and appointment system. Patients will begin by selecting their required specialty (e.g., cardiology, dermatology, etc.), after which the system will display available doctors along with their consultation schedules. Patients can then choose their preferred doctor and select an appointment slot based on availability and personal convenience. To confirm the booking, patients will be prompted to pay the consultation fee in advance. This ensures commitment and reduces the chances of no-shows, helping optimize doctor schedules and avoid vacant slots. The system will automatically update appointment statuses as “Confirmed,” “No-show,” “Rescheduled,” or “Completed” based on real-time data and patient interactions. In case of rescheduling or cancellations, the vacated slot will be made immediately available for others to book, ensuring zero slot wastage. Automated reminders and follow-up notifications will be sent to both patients and doctors to ensure high attendance and continuity of care. The workflow—from patient registration, doctor and date selection, payment, consultation, to follow-up—is designed to operate seamlessly with minimal manual intervention, improving operational efficiency, enhancing patient experience, and optimizing resource utilization.
